Lithium battery protection function

The protection function of lithium battery is usually completed by the protection circuit board and PTC and other current devices. The protection board is composed of electronic circuits, which can accurately monitor the voltage of the cell and the current of the charging and discharging circuit at any time in the environment of – 40 ℃ to + 85 ℃ and control the on-off of the current circuit in time; PTC prevents bad damage to the battery in high temperature environment.

Ordinary lithium battery protection board usually includes control IC, MOS switch, resistor, capacitor and auxiliary devices fuse, PTC, NTC, ID, memory, etc. The control IC controls the MOS switch on under normal conditions to make the cell and the external circuit on. When the cell voltage or loop current exceeds the specified value, it immediately controls the MOS switch off to protect the safety of the cell.

When the protection board is normal, VDD is high level, VSS and VM are low level, and do and Co are high level. When any parameter of VDD, VSS and VM changes, the level of do or co terminal will change.

48V lithium battery can be divided into ternary lithium battery, lithium iron phosphate battery and lithium titanate battery according to the raw materials of the battery.

The common uses of 48V lithium battery mainly include: Electric low-speed vehicle, communication base station backup battery, mobile tower backup power supply, server room backup power supply, UPS backup power supply, RV energy storage battery, automobile hybrid battery, etc.

The price of lithium battery pack is still 2 times higher than that of lead-acid battery, but its service life is 2-3 times that of lead-acid battery. In addition, the volume and weight of lithium battery are much smaller than that of lead-acid battery, which has many characteristics that lead-acid battery does not have. Lithium batteries have gradually begun to replace lead-acid batteries in many industries, such as communication base stations, electric low-speed vehicles, RV energy storage batteries, etc. Especially in the field of low-speed vehicles, the state is advocating the use of lithium batteries to reduce the environmental pollution caused by lead-acid batteries.
